Syracuse Orange Men’s Basketball head coach Jim Boeheim announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and will enter isolation. Upon confirmation of Boeheim’s test the other members of the Syracuse program were tested and another positive test was discovered.

With two positive tests Syracuse decided to pause all team activities immediately as Boeheim and the other positive test will enter a period of isolation. With everyone receiving multiple tests each week we wait to see if these cases remain isolated or if there is a larger spread through the program. Syracuse’s policy is that Boeheim would need to receive clearance from a doctor in order to return to campus.
The season was set to take off on November 27th against the Bryant Bulldogs but we’ll have to see how long this pause will be and if that game will need to be rescheduled. First and foremost we hope for a full and speedy recovery for Jim and the other Syracuse basketball program member.
Stay tuned as we provide updates to this situation.
