Last season Jim Christian showed that his Boston College roster is starting to add the pieces to turn this program around. Unfortunately one of those pieces, AJ Turner, is headed to Northwestern to play for Chris Collins.
When Northwestern reopens the renovated Welsh-Ryan Arena in 2018, it won't have cornerstone guards Bryant McIntosh and Scottie Lindsey or forward Gavin Skelly.
In a nod to that reality, the Wildcats have added 6-foot-7 guard A.J. Turner, a transfer from Boston College who will have two seasons of eligibility after sitting out next season.
...
He's described as a big, versatile wing who moves well without the ball and can shoot, similar to Lindsey. Sitting out next season will give Turner time to develop his 190-pound frame and improve his play off the dribble.
He'll add a needed veteran presence to what could be a young backcourt in 2018-19. He'll also have eligibility in 2019-20.
"Boston College will always be a home to me," Turner wrote in a message posted on his Twitter account. "I am very excited to begin my new journey in the Big Ten."
