Brad Brownell's roster got a boost on Wednesday when Marcquise Reed announced that he will be transferring to Clemson. Reed is a 6-3 guard who last played for Robert Morris. Reed will have to sit out the 2015-16 season, but will have 3 years of eligibility remaining.
“Marcquise is a great addition to our program,” Brownell said. “We’re certainly excited by his ability to score the basketball. It’s nice to have someone who has produced at a consistent level in college, particularly with some big games against ACC competition. Having he and Shelton compete against our guys in practice will help our program not only next season, but also well into the future.”
Reed should be an impact player when he steps on the floor. In his freshman season for Robert Morris, he averaged 15.1 points per game while making 49% of his shots and 41% from behind the arc. Reed scored 22 points in the NCAA Tournament against Duke this past season.
