Mike Brey is making moves on the recruiting trail.
While Notre Dame Fighting Irish football has faltered on the recruiting trail this week, the basketball program received a huge win on Wednesday night as four-star guard Prentiss Hubb gave his word to the Irish.

According to Rivals, Hubb is a top 50 recruit in the class of 2018 coming in at No. 45. At 6’2”, 155 lbs., Hubb still has time to grow into his body. He’s super athletic, with the ability to shoot, drive and pass. He also has a very smooth, left handed shot. What stood out to me in the short amount of film I watched of Hubb was his ability to play at or above the rim, and also to distribute the ball in transition.
With the addition of Hubb, Brey has built a solid backcourt for the the next three to five years. Hubb, along with T.J. Gibbs and incoming freshman D.J. Harvey, will give the Irish loads of talent at the one, two and three positions.
With the success Notre Dame has had on the court over the past few seasons, Brey has been able to parlay that into success on the recruiting trail. With the commitments of Hubb and Harvey, Brey has brought in two top-50 recruits over the 2017 and 2018 recruiting cycles.
The addition of Hubb also continues Brey’s success in the Washington D.C./Maryland area. The Irish have had success with the likes of Harvey, Jerian Grant and Eric Atkins, who all hailed from the region.
Hubb chose the Irish over the likes of Maryland, NC State and Virginia.
