After Virginia came back to take a three-point lead in the middle of the fourth quarter, Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough led the Cardinals on an 11-play 67-yard drive, ending with a five-yard touchdown pass to Jamari Johnson with 1:55 left in the game. Shough finished the game 18-31 for 231 yards and a touchdown. Louisville running back Isaac Brown had a monster game for the Cardinals with 146 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. For Virginia, Anthony Colandrea threw for 279 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 86 yards. Cavaliers' wide receiver Malachi Fields caught nine passes for 129 yards.
