Miami lost their first game of the season 34-23 at Cincinnati last night and in so doing the ACC takes another hit. Combined with East Carolina's win over Virginia Tech and Houston's win over Louisville, the AAC's success is another knock on ACC Football this season.
Statistically Miami matched Cincinnati across the board, but Cincy had more big plays on Special Teams and the Hurricanes simply couldn't produce on 3rd Down (4-15 26%).

The pace was frenetic, the balls flung left and right, the Nippert Stadium record crowd of 40,101 stood on its feet — and eventually stormed midfield.
A week after setting a school record by passing for 557 yards in a bit more than three quarters, Bearcats redshirt freshman quarterback Hayden Moore delivered again Thursday.
And this time he won.
Cincinnati and Moore ensured there will be no showdown between two undefeated teams — formerly Miami and presently Florida State — Oct. 10 in Tallahassee, as the Bearcats defeated the Canes 34-23.

What the loss means for Miami: The relationship between Miami and Golden might be getting colder than the “ice” jerseys the Hurricanes wore Thursday. Miami faces a brutal schedule in 2015, but Golden could not afford a loss to a Group of 5 school, especially one it walloped last season and was 2-2 to start this year. The Canes' defense played well in the second half, but the offensive coaches need to reassess their play calling. They didn't put Miami in a position to succeed, and that goes double during critical down-and-distances.
