Miami’s running back situation just got a little bit smaller for next season, as it was announced that Gus Edwards will be transferring from the program.
"Gus indicated to me that he would like to explore the possibility of other opportunities to continue his football career and we have given him permission to do that," Hurricanes coach Mark Richt said in the statement.
Edwards, who is a redshirt junior, announced on Wednesday his intentions. He rushed for 290 yards on the season and a touchdown on 59 carries this season.
Edwards is the second running back to leave, as Yearby announced his intention to head enter the NFL Draft.
