The Fighting Irish open -14 against the Demon Deacons
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are officially rolling after back to back blowout wins over top 15 foes in Southern California and N.C. State. This weekend it will welcome the Wake Forest Demon Deacons to South Bend and open as a 14 point favorite.
It is unclear how the season ending injury to Wake Forest’s Greg Dortch will impact this line, as the sensational redshirt-freshman suffered an abdominal tear during his 10 catch, 167 yard, 4 touchdown performance in a win over Louisville on Saturday.
Wake Forest, sitting at 5-3, needs one more win to become bowl eligible for a second year in a row. Notre Dame, at 8-1, will likely be in the CFP picture when those first rankings come out on Tuesday night. The only loss for the Irish was to Georgia in South Bend in the second week of the season.
The Demon Deacons lost 28-7 in it’s last trip to South Bend in 2015, where it struggled immensely to stop running back Josh Adams. Unfortunately for the Deacs Adams is still in South Bend and better than ever.
