No. 4 Notre Dame may be without their top running back for Saturday's game against Wake Forest.
Running back C.J. Prosise is questionable for the Wake Forest game on Saturday after leaving the Pittsburgh game early with an apparent upper body injury. He is going through concussion protocol and will have to be medically cleared to play in the game on NBC at 3:30.
Prosise has 148 carries for 975 yards and 11 touchdowns on the year. He also has 23 catches for 262 yards and a TD.
Freshman Josh Adams stepped in for Prosise after he left the game and ran 20 times for 147 yards. He also caught a five yard touchdown pass as well. If Adams starts for the injured Prosise on Saturday he will be the 19th different starter to do so on offense for the Irish this season.
According to the Irish Sports Daily he is still listed as RB1 on the Notre Dame depth chart

As head coach Chip Kelly told reporters after the game:
"It's kine of one where he's gonna have to continue to be evaluated," Kelly told reporters. "Shoulder/neck/upper body. He took a -- it wasn't a contact hit; it was contact to the ground. So head/neck/shoulder. He's doing pretty good right now, but we'll evaluate him and he'll be a day-to-day situation."
This may be a situation where Notre Dame opts to give Prosise a week off to fully heal before games against Boston College and Stanford. Adams is more than capable of filling in, especially this week against a Wake Forest defense that has struggled lately to stop the big play.
