Pitt kicks off its season today at home against Villanova. As we've seen in the past (cough, Youngstown State, cough), the Panthers really can't afford to look past anybody - even home games against FCS foes.
Pitt should win this game and the hope is that the team comes out of it healthy and ready to take on Penn State next weekend. Obviously the Panthers are favored here and while the team can't look past anyone, anything other than a win today would be an absolute train wreck.
Pitt is at home, has a returning quarterback, has the return of 2014 ACC Offensive Player of the Year James Conner, and has an experienced defense led by several players, including Jordan Whitehead and Ejuan Price. In other words, the pieces are there.
Here are the game details for today's contest:
Date: September 3, 2016
Time: 1:30 p.m.
Location: Pittsburgh (Heinz Field)
TV: ESPN3 / WatchESPN
Radio: 93.7 FM The Fan
