Even though the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team holds three open scholarship spots for next season, recruiting news has been quiet since Dakota Leffew chose to head to Georgia.
Last night that changed when this report from Zach Smart of nychoops.net that post-graduate power forward Cheikh Sadibou Ndiaye would be visiting Syracuse. Ndiaye is currently at Florida prep school Prestige Worldwide Sports Academy (and if that name sparks some memories for you, well did we just become best friends?).

is slated for Syracuse visit next week.
Interior scorer w/in traffic rebounding, can stick the 3 and high motor
The 6’10 Ndiaye had previously played at Champagnat Catholic School and then Riviera Prep in Florida. He had a three-star grade from ESPN as part of the 2023 class, but since then Ndiaye has gotten taller, and offers the ability to play inside and out at the power forward spot.
With the Orange holding open spots, he might be worth the gamble in the future (especially for bloggers who want to make Step Brothers jokes). There is mention of him visiting another ACC school this year, but I can’t confirm which school that was (or if he’s been blessed with the voice of an angel), but with most schools focused on the transfer portal players like Ndiaye can be left waiting until the Catalina Wine Mixer is over to find a landing spot.
6'10, 230lbs high major prospect @sadibou534 is elite in his ability to defend all 5 positions, knock down shots from everywhere on the floor, rebounds in traffic, & makes the right pass. Great work from Cheikh!! pic.twitter.com/2AUXhxEP6C
