The ACC, simply put, is having an astonishing 2016 NCAA Tournament. The numbers speak for themselves – 6 Sweet 16, 4 Elite 8 Teams, and guaranteed 2 Final 4 Teams, and a team in the national title. An entire side of the Elite 8 bracket is ACC teams. The recording set marks range from financial to competitive. Here’s a sampling of them…
Cuse & UNC wins move ACC to 16-3 in the NCAA Tournament. The conference is a whopping 33-8 over the past two seasons in the Tourney.

There really isn’t anything else to add. It’s been a great 2 year run in the NCAA tournament for the ACC. The last two years will result in an over $70 Million windfall for the conference. Every conference member will benefit financially, and the nice publicity for the ACC is always good for it’s schools.
It’s not just basketball either. Over the last 2 years the ACC has put a team in the national title series or game of the last 2 college baseball tournaments, last 2 college basketball tournaments, and 2 of the last 3 college football title games. I have future blog post which will go into more detail about the resurgence of ACC Athletics over the last few years. Keep an eye out for that.
