For the first time in 12 years, the No. 10 North Carolina Tar Heels beat the Virginia Cavaliers in Charlottesville, 54-44. Cormac Ryan got things going for the Heels, scoring 15 of his 18 points on 5-8 shooting from three-point range in the 1st half. Armando Bacot added 10 points and 13 rebounds while RJ Davis chipped in 12 points for Hubert Davis' squad. Jordan Minor paced Tony Bennett's team with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss. The Carolina defense locked down the Cavaliers from the start, holding UVA to 16 points on 5-30 shooting in the 1st half and just 28% shooting, including 2-14 from three-point range for the game.
