It looks like Cam Johnson will be joining the North Carolina Tar Heels after all.
The Pittsburgh graduate transfer told ESPN on Tuesday that he is committed to the Tar Heels, ending his transfer process.
A commitment comes just 8 days after Johnson visited Chapel Hill on Memorial Day to check out the campus.

Johnson’s transfer process has been a complicated one. He was seeking a transfer out of Pitt but the school was blocking him from transferring to a fellow ACC school or a team on their 2017-18 schedule.
It’s unknown what Johnson’s eligibility is right away as he could be forced to sit out an entire season.
But it’s all in Pitts hands right now. It’s very possible they could grant him the full release and he would be eligible right away. Judging by Johnson’s commitment to the Tar Heels, that might be the case.
Head coach Roy Williams had been working to get Johnson’s block lifted and the school released a full statement on the block just weeks ago.
The 6-foot-8, 210 pound Johnson averaged 11.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for the Panthers during the 2016-17 season. Prior to that season, Johnson averaged just 4.5 points per game in his freshman and sophomore seasons.
If he’s eligible to play right away, it will help the Tar Heels fill a big void after star Justin Jackson decided to leave early for the 2017 NBA Draft.
