North Carolina targets another big man in the class of 2018.
Roy Williams and the University of North Carolina men’s basketball program have their sights set on yet another big man in the class of 2018.
On Saturday night, Williams officially offered a scholarship to Darius Days, a four-star power forward from Gainesville, Florida.
Days, a 6-foot-7, 218-pound prospect who is entering his senior season at The Rock School, is one of six players to receive a scholarship offer from the Tar Heels in the past week. Four of those players, including Days, are big men from the 2018 class.
According to Inside Carolina’s Sherrell McMillan, Days averaged 19.3 points and nine rebounds while shooting 39.7 percent from three-point range for the Florida Vipers on the 2017 Under Armour circuit.
Scout’s Evan Daniels has described Days as a good shooter, rebounder and defender. He’s stated that he’s a high-motor player who has the opportunity to defend multiple positions at the collegiate level.
Along with North Carolina, Days has offers from a number of big name programs including Butler, Florida State, Indiana, Kansas, LSU, Louisville, Memphis, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
And although he has not yet received an offer from the Blue Devils, Duke’s Jon Scheyer has been looking in on Days and one could be on the horizon in the near future.
Days is the No. 74 prospect in the 2018 class according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s a top-20 player at his position and the No. 11 player in the state of Florida.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball currently projects Florida and LSU as the most likely landing spots for Days.
