Offensive tackle Billy Ross is set to commit on July 31st, and UNC is considered the favorite
The North Carolina Tar Heels seem to be on the verge of a major recruitment as offensive tackle Billy Ross is set to announce his commitment on July 31st.
The six-foot-five, 310-pound lineman has long held North Carolina in his good graces, including them in his top 7 last month along with Florida, Michigan State, Florida State, Virginia, Tennessee, and Marshall.
A three-star talent, Ross ranks 361st in the national composition, is the 31st overall offensive tackle in the 2017 class, and is the No. 1 recruit from his home state of West Virginia.
Scout.com believes that he physically overwhelms the competition, but he also shows a certain level of athleticism and quickness that will help him win battles on the line. Brian Dohn claims that “Ross plays right tackle and has the athleticism to be a lead block on the edge.”

After receiving an offer back in February, Ross has visited the UNC campus three times in 2016. 247 Sports’ crystal ball prediction gives UNC an 83% chance of landing him, making them the heavy favorites.
He also considers UNC to be at the top of his list after the Freak Show prospect camp in June, and (for what it’s worth) uses a picture from the camp as his Twitter avatar. It would seem like he’s already gotten comfortable and has made up his mind.
