Both Virginia and Clemson picked up transfers for the basketball team over the weekend.
Clemson added 6-10 grad transfer big man, Javan White from Oral Roberts. White will be immediately available. The Tigers also added 6-9 Jonathan Baehre from UNC Asheville. Baehre will sit one year and have 2 years of eligibility remaining.
Virginia added 6-8 forward, Braxton Keys from Alabama. Keys will have to sit one year, but will have two years of eligibility remaining. Keys has ties to the Virginia program, as he is the nephew of Ralph Sampson.
Key averaged 12 points per game as a freshman with the Crimson Tide, but just seven points per game and 5.3 rebounds as a sophomore after missing the first 10 games. He’s 6-foot-8 and 225 pounds. He reportedly visited Charlottesville earlier in the week.
“This entire experience has been extremely humbling,” Key told ESPN. “In high school during the recruitment process, the things that impacted my decisions were completely different than they are now.”
