Another opponent has been added to the non-conference schedule, as the Hokies will host Presbyterian this fall.

This will be the second time in the Buzz Williams tenure that Tech has battled the Presbyterian. The first came in the 2014-2015 season when the Hokies beat the Blue Hose 87-65. The Blue Hose will be led by new head coach Dustin Kerns, who was an assistant at Wofford prior to being hired as the new leader of the Presbyterian program. Kerns’ work is certainly cut out for him, as he will look to improve a Presbyterian team that went 5-25 overall last season.
This is the second piece of major scheduling news to come down the pipeline in the last couple of months for the Hokies, as it was revealed in May that Tech would travel to Rupp Arena in December to take on the Kentucky Wildcats.
At this point in time, the non-conference schedule has not been fully revealed for the upcoming season. However, the Presbyterian home game is now added to a list that includes road match-ups with Ole Miss and Kentucky, as well as an ACC-Big 10 Challenge game at home against Iowa. With games against Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Iowa, Tech’s early season RPI could be the highest it has been since Buzz Williams took over as the Tech’s head coach.
The non-conference schedule for the Hokies should be revealed in its entirety over the next few weeks.
