The Cavaliers went on the road and took down the #18 Panthers, 24-19. Pitt was driving in the last two minutes for the go-ahead score when Corey Thomas Jr. picked off the pass over the middle of the field to seal the victory. UVA had one of the worst scoring differentials in the 3rd quarter in the country coming into this game, but the Cavaliers outscored the Panthers 14-0 in the third quarter in this game and outscored them 17-6 in the second half. UVA quarterback Anthony Colandrea completed 16-24 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 40 yards. Running back Xavier Brown ran the ball 15 times for 68 yards and a touchdown. Brown also caught two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. For Pitt, running back Desmond Reid had 151 all-purpose yards in the game.
