UVA had one of the worst scoring differentials in the 3rd quarter in the country coming into this game, but the Cavaliers outscored the Panthers 14-0 in the third quarter in this game and outscored them 17-6 in the second half. UVA quarterback Anthony Colandrea completed 16-24 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 40 yards. Running back Xavier Brown ran the ball 15 times for 68 yards and a touchdown. Brown also caught two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. For Pitt, running back Desmond Reid had 151 all-purpose yards in the game.
