The Deacs land a big time 2018 player
Wake Forest added a four-star offensive lineman (according to Rivals) today for its 2018 football class. Devonte Gordon out of Washington DC committed to Wake Forest via his Twitter account:

In one of the funnier comments I have ever read from a commit recruiting, he had the following to say about why he chose Wake Forest over N.C. State and Virginia:

For those of you who can’t click on it for whatever reason it reads:
“My final three schools were Wake Forest, N.C. State, and UVA. N.C. State had good football and bad academics compared to the other two schools, while UVA was the other way around with bad football and good academics. Wake Forest brought the best of both worlds so I committed,” he said.
Goron is a 6-5, 280 pound offensive tackle, and rated as the 622nd best player nationally by 247Sports. He is a three-star on 247, and a four-star on Rivals, and was being recruited primarily by Lyle Hemphill for Wake.
With this commitment, Wake currently sits at 47th in the class of 2018, and 11th in the ACC. Gordon is the best recruit from a rating standpoint in the class, narrowly edging out QB Sam Hartman and DT Kelijiha Brown.
Welcome to Wake Devonte, we are happy to have you and can’t wait to see you wear the Old Gold and Black!
