The #2 Blue Devils took care of the rival Tar Heels with an 87-70 victory. Duke jumped out to a 23-6 lead in the opening seven minutes of the game and the Blue Devils led by as many as 32 midway through the second half. Cooper Flagg set the tone for Duke with six points and four assists in the opening five minutes. Flagg finished the game with 21 points, eight rebounds, seven rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. Fellow freshman Kon Knueppel was the Blue Devils leading scorer with 22 points. Knueppel also tallied five rebounds, five assists, two steals, and a block. Tyrese Proctor added 17 points. Drake Powell and RJ Davis each scored 12 points to lead North Carolina.
