The college basketball season is just one day away. Let's take a look at the top centers in the ACC this season to get you ready for ACC Fantasy Basketball.
We'll be giving you posts all day to get you ready for this season...
2 PM: Top 5 Centers
All times Eastern
1. Harry Giles
It's tough to put Giles at #1 here when he may not play until later this month, but the superlatives are already out there for this kid. He's a very aggressive, hungry player and when you combine that with his superior athleticism you'll see big numbers at the college level. The obvious question mark is his health.
2. Doral Moore
Doral Moore played behind Devin Thomas last season so his 4 points and 3 rebounds per game in his freshman season won't amaze you. Of course Moore showed moments of brilliance, and when you combine that with his NBA level size and athleticism he gets the #2 spot on this list. Moore scored 17 points (8-9 FG) and grabbed 8 rebounds in just 15 minutes of action in Wake's exhibition last week.
3. Kennedy Meeks
Meeks is another one of those guys that feels like he's been at UNC for 10 years. While there are other players on this list that are more talented, Meeks is going to give you a consistent 11 points and 7 rebounds every night.
4. Jonathan Isaac
Isaac is yet another freshman to make one of the Top 5 lists. Isaac comes to FSU with all the skills to be a star, but the one knock on him is his weight. At 6'11", 205 lbs there's fear that he won't be able to use his skillset as well as he should simply because he won't be able to hold his space in the paint. He is a quick jumper though, runs the floor extremely well, and an excellent ball handler for his size. Should be able to dominate games above the rim, while the rest of his game is a work in progress.
5. Amile Jefferson
Two Duke guys for the same position? Yep, I did it, because they're a very talented team. Amile Jefferson gets a nod here while likely being the lowest projected scorer on any of the Top 5 lists. Jefferson is one of the league's top defenders and rebounders, and is expected he'll take on a more versatile role offensively this season.
