The college basketball season is just one day away. Let's take a look at the top shooting guards in the ACC this season to get you ready for ACC Fantasy Basketball.
We'll be giving you posts all day to get you ready for this season...
11 AM: Top 5 Shooting Guards
12 PM: Top 5 Small Forwards
1 PM: Top 5 Power Forwards
2 PM: Top 5 Centers
All times Eastern
1. Grayson Allen
Allen is a Preseason All-American selection and is the easy choice for the first spot. While his numbers may drop a bit for Duke this season, its more a reflection of the talent that surrounds him. Allen will still give you a potent scorer, with an incredible shooting slash line of 46% (FG)/42% (3PT)/84% (FT).
2. Andrew White III
White is a newcomer to the ACC, coming from Nebraska where he averaged nearly 17 points per game in his junior season. He's a sharpshooter from long range making over 40% of his 3 point attempts, but he's hardly a single dimensional player as he also grabbed 6 rebounds per game last season.
3. Donovan Mitchell
If there were extra points for highlight reel dunks, Mitchell may be up a spot higher. The sophomore got a lot of attention last season due to his skill above the rim, but he'll impress you in other ways this season. At ACC Media Day, Quentin Snider called him the best shooter on the team and we already know he can finish around the rim.
4. Xavier Rathan-Mayes
XRM took a step back last year statistically with some talented freshmen coming on the scene, but expect for an uptick in his junior campaign. Malik Beasley is in the NBA now and while Dwayne Bacon stayed around, look for XRM to get closer to the 15 ppg numbers he put up in his freshman season.
5. Ja'Quan Newton
Ja'Quan Newton took on a 6th man role last season averaging double-figures in just 22 minutes per game. With Angel Rodriguez and Sheldon McClellan gone, look for both of those numbers to go up significantly.
