ACC Linkfest 11/27/2017 - Feast Week Recap, ACC/B1G Challenge Preview

Let's do a quick recap of "Feast Week" and a look ahead to the ACC/B1G Challenge which starts tonight.

Looking back, Duke and Notre Dame were the two teams that won their respective Holiday tournaments.  The Irish took home the Maui Classic behind big performances from Matt Farrell, Bonzie Colson, and TJ Gibbs.  The Irish are experienced and no who they are.  Throw in some key contributions in clutch moments from Martinas Geben and Rex Pflueger and you have a tough Irish team.

Duke took home a championship in their PK80 bracket by beating Texas and Florida in back to back games.  It was a 17 point lead against Texas and a 16 point lead versus Florida, but the young Blue Devils were unfazed.  Marvin Bagley averaged 32 points and 15 rebounds in the two games and has been best described as a unicorn in college basketball.  To avoid repeating myself, here was the best analysis I could come up with for this Duke team.

Biggest takeaway from Duke vs Texas/Florida is lack of focus is Duke's biggest weakness. When everyone is moving in the same direction though you best get out of the way. Two impressive comeback victories.

Tonight, the ACC/B1G Challenge starts as Syracuse hosts Maryland and Virginia hosts Wisconsin.  Yes, you get Virginia/Wisconsin at 9 PM on a Monday night.  Staying awake for that one may be difficult, especially if you made it all the way through Duke/Florida like me.

Here's the full schedule for the challenge this year.  My quick look at the matchups has the ACC taking the challenge 8-6.
