There are six games on the ACC schedule today with the big name matchup going to UNC/Syracuse. On the surface you might think the Heels have a chance since they are playing a highly ranked opponent. Of course when you consider Michigan State and Louisville and their high pressure approach in stopping the Heels and compare it to the Syracuse zone you'll see a stark difference. The Orange will use their 2-3 zone, the same that the Heels have struggled with against Miami and all season long. It seems highly unlikely that UNC will be able to win this one unless Marcus Paige and Leslie McDonald can be 3 point threats and the Heels can take care of the ball.
While the UNC and Syracuse matchup have the marquee programs, the game of the day is likely Virginia and NC State. The Cavaliers have discovered something the last few games blowing out FSU and Wake. NC state has played 3 halves of good basketball in conference play, and outside of a bad half against Pitt, still has a chance to move to 2-1 with a win over UVA.
