We have three teams in the ACC at 3-0 in conference play, and it'd be difficult to say they aren't the three best teams in the league. All 3 won convincingly on Saturday with Syracuse defeating UNC (the only winless team left in conference play) 57-45, Pitt beating Wake Forest 80-65, and Virginia dismantling NC State in Raleigh 76-45. As for the rest of the league, who knows?
Duke went to Clemson and looked to be in control with a 9 point lead early in the second half. Clemson outscored Duke by 22 points the rest of the way. Clemson's defense forced Duke into tough shots and the Blue Devils were as bad as they have been all season on the offensive end. On other end of the floor, the Tigers got big games from KJ McDaniels, Jaron Blossomgame, Landry Nnoko to earn a 72-59 win over Duke.
In other action, Boston College actually won a game. The Eagles defeated Virginia Tech 62-59 behind a big first half performance from Lonnie Jackson. Georgia Tech picked up a nice win, as well, over Notre Dame 74-69.
FSU and Maryland are in action tonight in the only ACC game of the day. A Maryland win in Tallahassee would move them to 3-1 in conference play. The Seminoles are coming off a win on Thursday night over Clemson in which they put things together late. The game starts at 8 ET and you can watch it on ESPNU.
