Thursday night was a solid night of ACC basketball as holiday tournaments began in full force. FSU was the story as they dismantled (also considered demolished, bamboozled, annihilated) VCU 85-67. Actually, the final score doesn't represent how soundly the Seminoles defeated #10 VCU, as FSU led by more than 30 in the second half. The Noles move to 4-0 and get a matchup today with Michigan as their reward.
Continuing the good news, Clemson picked up a nice win beating Temple by 14 in Charleston Classic. The Tigers trailed at halftime, but put together a nice second half in which they outscored Temple by 17. KJ McDaniels was impressive once again with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 blocks.
Wake Forest continues to dominate teams that they should. The Demon Deacons defeated The Citadel 82-54 to move to 5-0 on the season. Wake has avoided a sour performance thus far which has me gaining some confidence in the talent in Winston-Salem.
Boston College dropped another close game, this time to a solid UConn team. The Eagles trailed by 2 and had a final shot rejected (that might be putting it kindly) at the buzzer. Boston College drops to 1-4 on the season.
Miami lost to Central Florida 63-58. The Hurricanes dug themselves a hole early, but despite a late run were unable to make enough plays to get back in the game. Garrius Adams had a nice game with 20 points in the loss.
