The ACC was quite impressive on Wednesday night. Pitt defeated Stanford by 21 to win the Legends Classic. Syracuse moved to the Maui Classic championship game with a 92-81 victory over Cal. NC State defeated March Madness darling, Florida Gulf Coast by 20 points. Despite a slow start that saw them trailling for most of the first half, Boston College defeated Sacred Heart. Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and Virginia took care of cupcakes by double-figures.
Tonight, Syracuse plays Baylor in the Maui Classic championship and Duke faces Alabama in the NIT Semifinal. Both opponents are fringe tourney teams and I'd expect both Duke and Syracuse to pull out wins. Although, with the way Duke has played defense, nothing is safe to assume with the Blue Devils.
