On Monday night, Virginia continued their dominance in conference play. The Cavaliers moved to 5-1 in conference play and all five wins have been by double-figures. Their lone loss was in Cameron and Virginia was a bounce away from being undefeated in league play. According to my calculations, Virginia has the easiest conference schedule remaining. With Monday's loss, UNC dropped to 1-4 and a 4-way tie for last in the conference.
In the late game, NC State got some bad news before the game. TJ Warren wasn't in uniform due to an ankle injury he suffered at Duke, but NC State managed to win despite their leading scorer's absence. NC State defeated Maryland 65-56 behind Ralston Turner's 23 points and a really good defensive performance that held the Terps to .82 points per possession.
