People got their first look at what a nearly healthy Duke team looked like last night as the Blue Devils beat Florida 84-74 in the Jimmy V Classic.
While Duke is still without Harry Giles and Grayson Allen is still not practicing, Duke at least had most of their pieces on the floor. Ironically, it was 2 guys that had been doing it all season that led the way early as Luke Kennard and Amile Jefferson had 31 of Duke's 39 first half points. In the end Jefferson, Kennard, and Jayson Tatum all scored 20+ to lead the Blue Devils to victory. Duke did look disjointed at times and uncertain in their offensive sets. That's to be expected with the lack of practice time this team has had together. The good news though is after a matchup against UNLV on Saturday, Duke will have two home games (in which I'd expect Giles will play) before ACC begins on New Years Eve.
Other ACC teams in action managed to win easily on Tuesday. Check out more on those games below.
Tonight, we have 6 games on the schedule. Those matchups are highlighted by Boston College taking their yearly look at Harvard, and the Eagles always get a tough game in that matchup. Georgia Tech goes to VCU in a tough matchup and the Heels, sans Joel Berry, will take on Davidson.
