Of all of Wednesday's games I gave Georgia Tech the least chance to win. Give the Jackets credit, they beat a good VCU team on the road. It took a 3/4 shot at the end of the first half (video below) as well as some big plays by Tadric Jackson, Quinton Stephens, Josh Heath, and Ben Lammers down the stretch and in OT. Josh Pastner is showing his fanbase a glimmer of hope, and its been a while for Georgia Tech fans.
UNC did enough to get by a tough Davidson team. UNC, playing without injured point guard Joel Berry, led by 10 points or so most of the game. Davidson cut the lead to 3 late though, but the Kennedy Meeks and Justin Jackson made plays down the stretch. Jackson finished with 27 points and 7 3's in the win and picked up the slack in Berry's absence. Point guard duties were split among Seventh Woods, Stilman White, and Nate Britt (who started). Woods may have been the most effective though.
Heels are currently +12 with Woods at PG (31-19) and -7 with Britt at PG (45-52).

Boston College got their yearly dose of Harvard and it didn't end well. The Eagles lost by 8 points and it wasn't really even that close. Louisville jumped out to a 12-0 lead on Southern Illinois and never looked back winning by 20+. Pitt jumped out to a big lead on Buffalo as well, but similar to UNC held on late winning by 5. The good news for Kevin Stallings team is that Jamel Artis was back from a 1 game suspension. Virginia Tech took care of Maryland Eastern Shore winning by 16 as Zach LeDay led the way with 23 points.
Tonight, FSU takes on Nicholls State in the only ACC matchup of the night.
