Syracuse picked up another home win on Sunday, this one by double-figures over Clemson. The 13 point win is a step outside the norm for the Orange who have routinely allowed lesser teams to play with them in the Carrier Dome. Of course, how critical can you really be of a team that is 23-0? The fun and games portion of Syracuse schedule is over though. Of the 8 remaining conference games, Syracuse will play 5 on the road. Syracuse will take on Pitt on Wednesday before hosting BC and NC State in back-to-back games. They then play at Duke, at Maryland, at Virginia, before hosting Georgia Tech and closing at FSU. The teams chasing Syracuse have it a little easier.
Both Virginia and Duke, have 4 of their remaining 7 games at home, and the 2nd and 4th easiest conference schedules remaining, respectively. If I were forecasting this now, it seems like Virginia has the best shot at winning the regular season title. Pitt is still in the picture as well, but after their performance against Virginia Tech this past weekend, it remains to be seen how the Panthers will close.
Tonight, we get two ACC games as FSU hosts Miami and Virginia takes on Maryland. I'll be honest, I love how Maryland matches up with Virginia. The Terps can beat anyone when they are making the 3 point shot, but making any shot is difficult against the Cavaliers.
