Only one game in ACC action tonight as Duke travels to Blacksburg to take on Virginia Tech. Duke is coming off a loss at Maryland, so it should be interesting to see what, if any, adjustments are made.
The number one task for the Blue Devils will be to figure out a way to slow down Erick Green. Look for Rasheed Sulaimon to start out on Green and expect to see a lot of Tyler Thornton on Green as well. It wouldn't completely surprise me to see Thornton in the starting lineup tonight.
One matchup that I'll be watching closely is Mason Plumlee and Cadarian Raines. Plumlee is coming off his worst performance of the season at Maryland and Raines has the strength and athleticism that has given Plumlee issues in the past. I don't want to make too much out of one performance but clearly Plumlee wasn't the same player against the Terps. Whether it was the heavy minutes that Plumlee had played combined with 3 games in 6 days, or Maryland's frontcourt size that caught up with Plumlee, Duke needs their big man to return to form tonight. If Raines can force Plumlee off the block and play good defense without getting in foul trouble, the Hokies have a shot.
