Miami and Virginia made Wednesday night not exactly riveting ACC basketball. Miami came out sharp and beat Notre Dame 79-70, but the game wasn't really as close as the final score. Miami led by as much as 20 points and led by double-figures for nearly all of the 2nd half. Anthony Lawrence led the Canes with 18 points off the bench, making 4-4 from 3 point range. Once again, it was a balanced scoring attack for Miami as 5 Canes were in double-figures.
In the other matchup, Virginia had no problem with Boston College. While Malcolm Brogdon was lights out scoring 27 points on 7-10 shooting, 5-5 from 3, Boston College wasn't so sharp. The Eagles made 31% of shots from 3 point range, but made just 22% from inside the arc. Add in the fact that Virginia grabbed 87% of BC's misses and you realized that most possession consisted of one miss and Virginia attacking the other way. As a result, Virginia ended up winning 61-47.
Off the court, Duke received some good news as it turns out Mike Krzyzewski is fine and should be back on the bench when Duke hosts NC State on Saturday.
