With the new revenue sharing system coming to the ACC, playing highly-rated television games is about to become more important than it ever has been before for Louisville.
With that in mind, it makes sense that the Cardinals — who are already set to play home-and-homes with Georgia and Texas A&M in the years to come — would seek out as many attractive non-conference opponents as they can for the future.
As it turns out, getting those attractive opponents to agree to a game with the Cards has been as tough as ... well, as it’s always been.
During an appearance on “The Deener Show” Friday morning, Louisville head football coach Jeff Brohm said in the past year that U of L “immediately” reached out to both Ole Miss and Tennessee about playing when each ended up with scheduling opening. After some back and forth, both opponents ultimately opted to schedule games with other programs.
