The big winners on Thursday night were Virginia and Duke. The Cavaliers absolutely demolished Clemson, leading 38-10 at half and ultimately winning 78-41. Clemson turned the ball over on almost a third of their possessions and when they took care of the ball, Virginia's defense was suffocating. The UVA offense was just as good, posting an offensive efficiency of 125. Speaking of efficiency, Duke's offense in the first half against NC State defined efficiency. The Blue Devils posted an offensive efficiency of 175 in the first half on their way to a 58-37 halftime lead. NC State fought their way back and cut the lead to single digits but the Blue Devils ultimately won 98-85.
Maryland also picked up a win on Thursday night, defeating Virginia Tech 60-55 in Blacksburg. The Terps moved back to .500 in conference play.
