Other than the normal excitement of the upcoming ACC tournament and of course our own ACC Tournament Bracket Contest, the lead story was the announcement of the All-ACC teams. Its hard to argue with the selected teams, in fact let's save the arguing for when the individual awards come out. The big news that came out overnight is that it appears to be pretty certain that Notre Dame will be playing basketball in the ACC next season. Here's more from SI.com...
Notre Dame’s basketball teams will play in the ACC next year, according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation. The Big East presidents will vote on the issue Tuesday morning, and an announcement is expected sometime after their conference call ends.
“It’s everyone’s intention that this will happen tomorrow,” said the source.
Someone in the ACC office is ripping out a piece of paper with the 14 team ACC basketball schedule on it, tearing it up, and yelling a few choice words. That person is likely the only person not happy about this. The Irish will bring some fresh new blood to the conference, joining Syracuse and Pittsburgh this upcoming season. The league will have 15 members for the 2013-14 season and 15 the following season when Maryland departs and Louisville arrives.
