The ACC played 3 games on Tuesday night with Virginia and Maryland winning and FSU losing its NIT opener to Louisiana Tech. The Terps were asleep the first 20 minutes of action with Niagara and were tied at 35. The second half was another story as Maryland started the half on a 21-3 run and ultimately won 86-70. Virginia wasn't quite as dominant against Norfolk State, but came away with a 67-56 win, nonetheless. FSU wasn't so lucky as they seemingly trailed most of the game against Louisiana Tech and lost 71-66.
Virginia will move on to play St. John's at home in the 2nd round on Sunday and Maryland will host Denver on Thursday in their next NIT game.
Since the season has wrapped for some teams, transfer season has begun. Georgia Tech's Julian Royal is on his way out.
