71 - 61 That wasn't how things were supposed to end for the ACC champion Miami Hurricanes. They're margin for error got a little smaller without Reggie Johnson, but Johnson's abilities weren't why they lost to Marquette. As Shane Larkin said, they "just couldn't hit anything." Miami's effective field goal percentage was just 43, and Miami allowed Marquette to the shoot the highest field goal percentage the Canes allowed all season. Just like that, Miami's dream season is over.
Tonight, Duke is the final sweet 16 game to tipoff when they play Michigan State at (way too late) o'clock. In all seriousness, I think it tips at 9:45 ET. I've said it since I saw the brackets that this game concerned me for the Blue Devils. Michigan State is a lot like Maryland in a lot of ways, and we've seen the trouble the Terps have given Duke this season. That said, when Duke shoots well they are pretty much unbeatable. Of course, Duke, and in particular Ryan Kelly, hasn't exactly shot it well in a while.
