Where does Wake Forest land in the first projection for 2017-18?
The college basketball season just ended, but if you are like me then it’s never too early to look ahead to the next season.
While there are still a lot of rosters that have yet to be finalized, including Wake Forest’s, Joe Lunardi has released his first Bracketology projection for the 2017-18 season.
Wake Forest is not in the field of 68, but finds itself in the “First Four Out” category. The Deacs are behind the Maryland Terrapins and the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Many things will change between now and the beginning of the season, but this is still a big picture way to see roughly where Danny Manning’s squad is projected for right now.
I do not know whether or not Lunardi included John Collins on the roster, but I would assume he has him leaving to the NBA given where the Deacs fell.
Overall the ACC has 8 teams projected to make the field in: Duke, North Carolina, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Miami, Notre Dame, Florida State, and Virginia.
Wake Forest and Georgia Tech fall into the “First Four Out”, while Syracuse is in the “Next Four Out” category.
I wouldn’t take this initial projection too seriously, but fun to see where we stack up
