Brownell lands biggest recruit since his arrival to Clemson

Brad Brownell landed the biggest recruit of his tenure at Clemson in Donte Grantham.  Grantham picked Clemson over Michigan, Cincinnati and other schools.

Hargrave Military Academy forward Donte Grantham, rated a three-star prospect by ESPN and higher by other national recruiting services, has committed to become the highest-rated recruit of head coach Brad Brownell’s tenure with the Clemson men’s basketball program.

The 6-foot-8, 200-pound native of Martinsburg, W.V., announced via Twitter Friday morning that he has chosen the Tigers over scholarship offers from Michigan, Cincinnati and others.

Grantham was named the West Virginia high school player of the year in the spring while leading Martinsburg High to the Class AAA state championship. He averaged 18.3 points and 9.1 rebounds per game, and he finished with 1,067 points and more than 600 rebounds in his career.
