The 25th-ranked Tigers came out angry and crushed the Mountaineers, 66-20. Clemson set a school record by scoring 35 points in the first quarter and 56 points in the first half. Clemson had 359 yards in the first quarter, 525 yards in the first half, and 712 total yards in the game. Quarterback Cade Klubnik only played the first half and still put up 378 yards and five touchdowns through the air on 24-26 passing. Klubnik also ran in two touchdowns as well. Tight end Jake Briningstool caught seven passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Phil Mafah ran the ball 10 times for 118 yards, including an 83-yard touchdown run.
