While the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have a game this week against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, many fans and media members continue to focus solely on the game next week against the Clemson Tigers. There was some news this evening that will only amplify that talk.
Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence has tested positive for COVID-19.
#Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence has tested positive for COVID-19, sources tell me and @RapSheet. The No. 1-ranked Tigers are slated to face #BostonCollege Saturday.

Lawrence will have to miss this weekend’s game against the Boston College Eagles, and will not be able to practice for the next 10 days.
He should still be eligible to play Notre Dame on November 7th though, and any thought to the contrary should probably be shelved for now.
We wish for a healthy recovery for Trevor, and hope there are no long-term effects for his physical health. He truly is one of the best players in the nation, and a Clemson team without Lawrence seems strange — if this wasn’t 2020.
I’m sure we will hear and learn more over the coming days, but this could certainly throw a wrench in the ACC and playoff race.
