It was a great day for Duke Blue Devils football, landing three new commitments for their 2017 recruiting class.
Head Coach David Cutcliffe landed three new commitments for 2017, helping both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
Offensively, 5’11 wide receiver Gavin Holmes made his commitment to Duke, choosing them over 19 offers. He is a Texas product and is the second wide receiver to join the 2017 recruiting class, joining Florida product Damond Johnson.
On the defensive side of the ball, they also landed talents from Josh Blackwell and Lummie Young.
Blackwell is labelled as an athlete that played both ways at Buford High School in Georiga, but is considered seeing action more on the defensive side of the ball as a corner.
Young is a 6’2 prospect from South Carolina that has seen his recruitment rise as of late, but this past week, he decided that Duke felt like home for him. Young is labeled as safety by several national recruiting sites.
With the three commitments, Duke now has 11 commitments for the 2017 recruiting class.
