WINSTON-SALEM- Senior Duran Lowe has been dismissed from the Wake Forest football team for a "violation of University policy," according to a release. Lowe, who tallied 91 tackles and 1 interception during his Demon Deacon career, was also named Academic All-ACC on two occasions.
Lowe had a tumultuous 2012 season, however, as he was arrested and suspended (along with former Deac Devin Bolling) for his role in a drug-related investigation. The Deacons went into 2013 with only Lowe and senior A.J. Marshall listed at free safety on the depth chart. Redshirt freshman Ryan Janvion and transfer Anthony Wooding, Jr. look to be the likely candidates to fill Lowe's shoes, but Wooding is still awaiting clearance from the NCAA.
