The Pittsburgh Panthers may have missed out the first time around, but it looks like the second time is the charm. After choosing the University of Michigan after having Pitt in his top five, Papa Kante has decided to sign with the Panthers after being released from his national letter of intent from the Wolverines.

Kante is a 6’10 center out of South Kent, Connecticut, and the 9th-ranked center in the nation according to 24/7 Sports. Below is a scouting report from Adam Finkelstein of 24/7 Sports.
The commitment from Kante leaves just one scholarship spot remaining on the roster after landing transfers Zach Austin from High Point and Ishmael Leggett from Rhode Island. This should be a boost to a class that is currently ranked 42nd overall according to 24/7 Sports. Kante will be the third four-star recruit joining Jaland Lowe and Carlton Carrington. Marlond Barnes a three-star recruit out of Ohio rounds out the recruiting class.
Kante will join Federiko Federiko and the Diaz-Graham twins to form a deep frontcourt for the Panthers. With guard Dior Johnson set to make a return to the court this season, Pitt suddenly finds themselves with a collection of four-star recruits on the roster looking to help continue to move Pitt into a new era with their college basketball program.
