Virginia Tech received a commitment from a big-time guard from Canada.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker is a 6’5, 175 pound prospect from Canada and is now the newest Hokie to commit for basketball.
The 2017 shooting guard, who plays for Canada Elite, is ranked as a 4-star prospect by Rivals, Scout, and Verbal Commits. He is also the first commitment for the Hokies 2017 recruiting class.
He informed 247Sports that it all came down to family back in March and the relationship he developed with assistant coach Jamie McNeilly.
He just recently took a visit to Virginia Tech and chose the Hokies over programs like USC and Maryland.
