The day after Duke lost 2014 power forward recruit Reid Travis to Stanford, Coach K offered a scholarship to a 2015 recruit, power forward Chase Jeter. He is ranked 37th by ESPN and has been on Duke's radar for a while. I want to thank Chase for allowing me to interview him and I wish him the best of luck for his future.
Thomas Eames: How did Duke offer you and what did that feel like?
Chase Jeter: Coach K called and we talked for about 15 minutes about last night’s game, and how he thinks I could fit in, and basically he told me the main reason he wanted to call me was to offer me a scholarship, and when he offered I was really excited.
Thomas Eames: Do you think that Duke is a good fit for you and your game?
Chase Jeter: Definitely I feel like I could really fit well in their program and do a good job of extending the defense and creating trouble for the opposing teams.
Thomas Eames: Do you take any stock into the talk that Duke cannot develop big men?
Chase Jeter: I see that as something personal, I have the work ethic to get better and I know they will provide me with what I need to do so.
Thomas Eames: Would you like to play in college with your high school teammate Stephen Zimmerman?
Chase Jeter: I enjoy playing with Stephen by my side but I think we will go our separate ways for college.
Thomas Eames: Do you have any time table for your college decision? Do you plan on deciding early or waiting it out?
Chase Jeter: I will most likely decide sooner than later around this time in next year.
Thomas Eames: Do you have any last things you want Duke fans to know about you?
Chase Jeter: I'm a hard worker on and off the court, I carry a 3.8 GPA, and I hope to get out to Duke for a visit sometime in the near future.
