Thanks to Tyler for a great three months.

Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough announced Wednesday afternoon that he has played his final game as a Cardinal.
Shough will not play in U of L’s Dec. 31 Sun Bowl game against Washington, instead opting to start preparation for this spring’s NFL Draft.

Shough was terrific in his lone season at Louisville, starting all 12 games and throwing for 3,195 yards with 23 touchdowns against only six interceptions. He became just the 13th Cardinal QB to toss for at least 3,000 yards in a season, a feat which earned him an honorable mention All-ACC nod.
Shough joins wide receiver Ja’Corey Brooks as the only Louisville players who have opted out of the Sun Bowl at this point. The Cards will also be without the (currently) 15 players who have officially entered the transfer portal.
While Jeff Brohm has already stated publicly that he plans on adding a quarterback from the transfer portal for next season (USC QB Miller Moss is currently on campus for an official visit), this still presents a solid opportunity for a guy like Pierce Clarkson to either audition for the job or to present his skills to another program that might be interested. However, Brohm could choose to start Harrison Bailey, who has served as the primary backup to Shough this season. True freshman Deuce Adams is another option to see time at the position.
A major thanks to Tyler for the memories this fall. I wish he could have played all seven of his seasons in red and black.
