Despite the fact that five ACC teams have already opted out of participating in college football’s 2020-21 postseason, Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield said Wednesday that the Cardinals are not in line to receive an invitation to a bowl game and have already moved on to the 2021 season.
“Vince (Tyra) has been in communication with the ACC this week and we aren’t in line for a bowl,” Satterfield said when asked about the possibility of accepting an invitation. “We are moving forward towards next season.”
Because of the unique circumstances surrounding this season, the NCAA declared before the start of the year that all teams, regardless of record, would be eligible to participate in bowl games.
No see, this ... THIS ... would have been the perfect place for Satterfield to bend the truth ever so slightly. Just say that we’re opting out of the postseason. No one would have batted an eye. Hell, Virginia Tech is 5-6 and they did the same thing just this morning, despite the fact that they have a 27-year bowl streak going.
I know our guy has a powerful agent, but someone needs to get the man a narrative control coach. I will do the job for anywhere between $2-2.5 million.
Louisville wraps up the season with a 4-7 overall record and a 3-7 mark in ACC play.
